Six new students' music groups, who were chosen, will perform on March 8th at 17:00 at the final of the University of Latvia Young Music Group Contest "Hadron 2018", demonstrating their creativity and musicality. The chosen groups include: Audiokvartāls; Cellar Cat; IOV; NeimoM; Podruga and Spole. This year they represent the Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Business Management and Economics, Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences.
Listeners have the opportunity to set their own favorites from the performers in the Internet vote, until March 7, 23:59 - www.hadrons.lv, determining which of the young musicians' groups will receive a special audience prize for sympathy. But the main winners of the competition will be determined by the jury on the evening of March 8th , after all the teams, that have qualified in the finals, will have submitted their live performances. The new groups will be judged by a professional jury - music journalists, music industry representatives, Radio NABA and the Student Council of the University of Latvia. The entrance to the contests final concert is free of charge, but only with a prior application, so go apply to ej.uz/hadrons2018. The competition will take place at the Latvian Radio 1 studio, Dome Square 8, the start of the event is at 17:00 and people will be able to keep track of it on the radio and the Internet live.
The competition is organized by the Latvian Radio 6 - LU Radio NABA in cooperation with the Students’ Council of the University of Latvia. The contest is supported by the sound recording studio "SKAN" and the musical instrument and audio equipment wholesale company "Rock Distribution", as well as Red Bull and Memory water.
